Online Registration
- Lessons are billable monthly in advance.
- Checks are accepted.
- Paypal accepted for a minimum of three lessons at a time.
- $30 fee for bounced checks.
- Cancellation policy: 7 days notice.
- All payments are non-refundable.
Cancellations/Rescheduling
- Travel/Vacation – I assume the lesson will be attended every week unless I provide
notification that I am not teaching. If in a given week no lesson can be attended, I need to know a
week in advance or you will be charged for the lesson. These notifications are best done by email
so we both have a record.
- Days off/field trips/holidays/sports conflicts/performances for other activities/social events/etc. –
I do not offer the option of “skipping” a week due to these activities. I will make a good faith
effort to find another time that week within my normal teaching hours (which do NOT include
week-ends). The sooner I know of a conflict, the more alternate times are likely to be available.
However, if a lesson is missed to provide a particular day free of commitments or in favor of
another activity, and no available make-up times suit your schedule, you will remain financially
responsible for your reserved lesson time that week. This is NOT meant to bring me
compensation for lessons not taught, but to encourage the weekly attendance that is so critical for
progress.
- Sometimes students will pick up an activity mid-year assuming they can change their lesson time.
However, my other students often cannot move mid-year due to their activities. Should you
consider adding a new activity, please check first with me to see if an alternate lesson time can be
arranged in order to avoid disappointment. There will be no refund or credit for prepaid lessons
that cannot be attended due to a new activity.
- These policies do not represent a significant departure from what most of my families have been
doing anyway, and is not meant to be punitive or corrective, but to ensure fair treatment of
everyone.
Timeliness
- Please be punctual in order to guarantee receiving the full lesson time you have paid for.
- All studio business (making of payment, discussion of schedules, etc.) should occur at the
beginning of the lesson, or via email/phone contact prior to the lesson.
- It is fine to come early. However, if you are more than about 5 - 10 minutes early, I may be out
running an errand, in the middle of another lesson, or otherwise unable to answer the door. Please
wait and ring again closer to your lesson time if I do not answer early.
