In group classes, colouring helps the kids center and listen to each other so they are active listeners and supporters of each other and how wonderful it is to share their individuality in how they design their colouring. I also love seeing which picture they choose to colour - they have to decide together how to choose and in some classes they take turns in others, they choose together. The piano is a very popular picture and also reinforces the structure of the instrument as well as leading to very interesting questions as to which bits do what!
